RUET’s New Hall for Male Students Set to Open Soon

A newly constructed hall for male students at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) is set to open soon. The hall has already been equipped with basic facilities, including water and electricity, and students are expected to move in shortly, sources said.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Director of the university’s Planning and Development Office, Prof Dr H M Russell, along with Director of Student Welfare Prof Dr Robiul Islam Sarkar and ICT Cell Director Prof Dr Samiul Habib, inspected the hall on Thursday and expressed satisfaction with the overall preparations.

Officials stated that the hall is nearly ready for accommodation, with finishing work expected to be completed next week. Regarding internet connectivity, Prof Dr Samiul Habib mentioned that installation work has been completed and the service is anticipated to launch in the first week of May.

un and may take about one more month to become fully operational. Prof Dr H M Russell noted that although the original deadline was December 31, 2026, the work was expedited for student welfare, enabling the hall to be handed over within this month.

Prof Dr Robiul Islam Sarkar indicated that formal accommodation activities are expected to begin by April 30, though dining services may take about 10 more days to start. Despite initial delays due to the contractor’s slow progress, the project is now nearing completion. Officials expressed hope that students will soon be able to move in comfortably.
