Dhaka: One person has died of confirmed measles and four more have died of suspected measles in the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release sent from the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the number of suspected measles patients in the last 24 hours is 1,170, with the total number from March 15 to April 23 reaching 28,334. In the last 24 hours, there have been 125 confirmed measles cases, raising the total number of confirmed cases since March 15 to 4,059.
From March 15 to April 23, a total of 18,845 people were hospitalized with suspected measles. During the same period, 15,728 individuals have recovered and been discharged. Meanwhile, 39 people have died of confirmed measles since March 15, with an additional 194 deaths attributed to suspected measles during the same timeframe.
The Dhaka Division has reported the highest number of suspected measles infections, with 12,578 cases, of which 2,724 have been confirmed as measles.
