23,372 Pilgrims Arrive in Saudi Arabia from Bangladesh for Hajj

Dhaka: A total of 23,372 Hajj pilgrims from Bangladesh have arrived in Saudi Arabia over the first four days of Hajj travel, as detailed in the Hajj bulletin.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Director of the Bangladesh Hajj Office, Lokman Hossain, reported that 58 flights had reached Jeddah by 10 am today. It was noted that 78,500 Bangladeshi pilgrims have been granted permission to perform Hajj this year.



Lokman Hossain further explained that 660 agencies are responsible for organizing the Hajj pilgrimage under private arrangements. This includes 30 lead agencies and 630 coordinating agencies, which play a role in managing the logistics of the pilgrimage.



Data broken down by airline shows that 8,674 pilgrims traveled on 21 flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 8,247 on 121 flights operated by Saudi Airlines, and 6,451 on 16 flights operated by Flynas Airlines. The remaining 54,904 pilgrims are scheduled to arrive gradually on designated airlines, as outlined by the director.



Information from the Hajj office indicates that out of the total pilgrims, 4,565 will perform Hajj under government management, while 73,935 will do so under private arrangements. The holy Hajj is expected to take place in Saudi Arabia on May 26, contingent upon the sighting of the moon.
