Home Ministry Executes Major Police Reshuffle Involving 24 Officers

Dhaka: The home ministry today executed a series of high-level police reshuffles, including an additional inspector general, seven deputy inspectors general (DIGs), three Addl-DIGs, and 13 superintendents of police (SPs) to new stations. “The transfer order will come to effect immediately,” according to the home ministry notifications.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a notification stated that supernumerary additional inspector general (Addl-IG) of Police Telecom Md Rezaul Karim has been transferred to the Police Headquarters (PHQ) as Additional IG. In the same notification, it was mentioned that DIG of PHQ Khandkar Nazmul Hasan has been posted to the Police Training Centre (PTC), Tangail as commandant, while commandant of PTC Mohammad Ashfaqul Alam has been reassigned to PHQ as DIG.



Furthermore, the Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Md Majid Ali has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as DIG, and DIG of Highway Police Abdul Mabud has been appointed as the commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police.



Another notification highlighted that Addl-DIG of Special Branch (SB) Faiysal Mahmood has been attached to the police hospital in Rajarbagh, while commandant (Addl-DIG) of PSTS, Betbunia, Rangamati AFM Anjuman Kalam has been attached to the range DIG office in Sylhet as Addl-DIG. Additionally, 13 superintendents of police (SPs) have been given various reassignments in Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP), Rangpur Metropolitan Police, and other specialized units.
