Dhaka: The Met office has issued Cautionary Signal No. 1 for the country’s inland river ports, with the warning effective from 3:30 pm to 1:00 am tonight. This cautionary signal comes amid forecasts of adverse weather conditions impacting several regions.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a special weather bulletin from the Met office has highlighted the likelihood of rain and thunder showers, accompanied by temporary west/north-westerly gusty or squally winds reaching speeds of 45-60 kph. The affected areas include Pabna, Tangail, Mymensingh, and Cumilla.
The Met office has instructed river ports in these areas to hoist Cautionary Signal No. 1 to alert vessels and ensure preparedness for the expected weather conditions. The signal serves as a precautionary measure to secure the safety of navigation and port operations during the forecasted period.
