4 Arrested in Noakhali for Hoarding 1,400 Litres of Diesel

Noakhali: Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested four individuals along with 1,400 litres of hoarded diesel during an operation in the Sadar upazila of the district.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, District DB Officer-in-Charge Md Mohin Uddin confirmed the arrests and the seizure early this morning. The operation was initiated based on a tip-off, with the raid conducted around 10:30 pm on Friday at Uday Sadhur Hat South Bazar under Char Matua Union.



The individuals arrested have been identified as Md Rashed, 38, voucher vehicle driver Md Nasir Uddin, 47, Md Shihab Uddin, 22, and Md Maksud, 32. All are residents of different areas within the upazila.



Police sources revealed that the operation took place at Abdul Malek Oil Store under the supervision of the DB Officer-in-Charge, and was led by Sub-Inspector Md Helal Uddin. The group was detained on charges of illegal stockpiling and selling diesel at inflated prices. Along with the diesel, a voucher vehicle was also seized by the authorities.



The DB Officer-in-Charge mentioned that a case under the Special Powers Act is being filed with Sudharam Model Police Station in relation to this incident.
