Manikganj: Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bengali New Year, was celebrated in Manikganj with great festivity. The Manikganj District Administration organized a week-long program to mark the occasion. The day’s events started with a vibrant rally led by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Manikganj, Nazmun Ara Sultana, featuring participation from individuals across various sectors, including government officials, political party leaders and activists, students, teachers, and cultural organizations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, hundreds of people took part in the rally, adorned in colorful dresses and carrying festoons and banners. The week-long celebrations included a variety of cultural activities such as folk songs, traditional rural songs, lathikhela, and exhibitions of various rural handicrafts.
