Probe Ordered into Dog Death in Bagerhat Crocodile Attack

Bagerhat: State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku has directed authorities to conduct a proper investigation and bring those responsible to justice over the tragic death of a dog in a crocodile attack at a pond adjacent to the shrine of Hazrat Khan Jahan Ali (RA) in Bagerhat.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the state minister expressed deep shock over the incident, noting that it had deeply saddened him both as a ministry representative and as a human being. He emphasized that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is committed to building the country as a safe habitat for both people and animals.



Tuku instructed the concerned administration to thoroughly investigate the incident and ensure that the guilty parties face legal action. He also emphasized the importance of implementing measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.



Following the state minister’s directive, the Bagerhat district administration has formed an investigation committee and taken swift action. Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Atiya Khatun has been appointed as the head of the probe body, with other committee members including Assistant Commissioner (Land) M Sharif Khan, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Palash Kumar Das, and Officer-in-Charge of Bagerhat Sadar Police Station Md Mahamud-Ul-Hasan.
