Tehran: Iran has called on the international community to act against what it described as threats of ‘atrocious acts,’ following recent remarks by US President Donald Trump. In a statement posted on X, Iran’s mission to the United Nations condemned Trump’s comments, saying he is threatening ‘to destroy infrastructure essential to civilian survival’ in the country.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Iran’s mission emphasized that if the conscience of the United Nations were active, it would not remain silent in the face of what it views as an overt and shameless threat by the US President. The statement criticized Trump as a war-mongering leader who seeks to drag the region into an endless conflict.
The mission further stated that Trump’s remarks constitute direct and public incitement to terrorize civilians and are clear evidence of intent to commit a war crime. Iran insists that the international community and all states have legal obligations to prevent such acts, urging immediate action to avoid future atrocities.
