Dhaka: Member of Parliament for Dhaka-2 constituency and former Vice President of DUCSU, Aman Ullah Aman, today highlighted the crucial role of farmers as the backbone of the nation during a programme aimed at supporting agricultural needs.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Aman Ullah Aman stressed the administration’s commitment under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to fulfill the electoral promises of the BNP. This statement was made while inaugurating a seed and fertiliser distribution programme at Bhakurta and Tetuljhora unions in the Savar upazila.
The BNP-led government, described as farmer-friendly by Aman, is implementing initiatives to support the agricultural sector. A significant announcement was the introduction of agricultural cards for farmers, planned for Pohela Boishakh, as part of the government’s ongoing efforts. Additionally, Aman noted that agricultural loans up to Tk 10,000 have been waived, with assurances that all electoral promises by the BNP will be gradually fulfilled.
The event was organised by the Savar Upazila Agricultural Extension Department with the assistance of the Bhakurta Union Parishad. During the programme, a total of 60 farmers from Tetuljhora and Bhakurta unions received 5 kg of Binadhan-21 paddy seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertiliser, and 10 kg of MOP fertiliser each.
Present at the event were Savar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Saiful Islam, Upazila Agriculture Officer Al Mamun, along with local BNP leaders and activists, emphasizing the collaborative efforts to support the agricultural community.
