Dhaka: Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has embarked on an official visit to the United States.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, General Waker-Uz-Zaman departed from Dhaka on Saturday, March 28, as confirmed by an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.
During his visit, the army chief is slated to receive an honorary motion at the Georgia State Capitol. This recognition is in honor of the significant contributions made by Bangladeshi peacekeepers to the United Nations peacekeeping mission. The initiative underscores the dedication and impact of Bangladeshi forces in global peacekeeping efforts.
In addition to the honorary motion, General Waker-Uz-Zaman will deliver a special lecture at the Senate Chamber. This engagement is part of a series of events planned during his visit, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and fostering dialogue on peacekeeping and security.
Furthermore, the army chief is scheduled to engage in bilateral talks with relevant representatives of the United States. These discussions are expected to cover a range of topics pertinent to both nations, emphasizing cooperation and mutual interests in defense and peacekeeping initiatives.
