Indian Envoy Meets Bangladesh Health Minister to Boost Healthcare Cooperation

Dhaka: Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma today paid a courtesy call on Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain at the Secretariat here. During the meeting, they discussed expanding cooperation in the healthcare sector, particularly in AI-enabled services and medical education to strengthen affordable healthcare systems in Bangladesh and India.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, they also explored capacity building, linkages with the pharmaceutical industry, medical education, and cooperation in the digital healthcare sector based on common priorities and mutual interests. The discussions highlighted the importance of enhancing India-Bangladesh cooperation in the public health sector, exchanges in medical research and advanced medical services, cancer treatment, traditional medicine, and people-centric initiatives to address the need for affordable healthcare in both countries.



The meeting was also attended by State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr MA Muhit, underscoring the significance of high-level engagement in fostering bilateral ties in the healthcare domain.
