Chattogram: Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) conducted a special drive across various police stations in the city, leading to the arrest of 43 individuals and the recovery of 2.5 lakh contraband yaba tablets.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the CMP control room disclosed that among the 43 arrests, 14 were related to drug offenses, 19 were for robbery, one for extortion, and one for gambling. Additionally, eight individuals were apprehended for their involvement with a juvenile gang.
During the operation, a total of 183,684 yaba pills were seized from different areas, with the largest amount of 180,025 pills recovered from the tourist zone of Patenga. CMP is conducting regular drives to combat drug trafficking, robbery, and other crimes in the city, DMP sources said.
