Chattogram: The Chattogram district administration has extended a helping hand by providing food assistance to needy, helpless, and homeless individuals in the district. The initiative reflects a proactive approach to addressing food insecurity among the vulnerable population.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the program took place at the Jamiatul Falah National Mosque following Friday prayers. It was organized by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, who personally distributed food packets to approximately 250 individuals in need.
Each food packet included 10 kg of rice, 1 kg of local lentils, 1 kg of iodized salt, 1 kg of sugar, 1 liter of edible oil, and other daily essentials. This assortment aims to provide comprehensive nourishment to the recipients.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the significance of kindness and support within the community, stressing that a well-functioning society is achieved through collective effort. He urged those capable of assisting to step forward and help support the vulnerable and impoverished individuals.
This initiative by the district administration aims to ensure that no needy person goes hungry during Eid. Senior officials of the district administration were also present to support the event.
