Dhaka: The Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on Search and Rescue (SAR) and Rescue and Fire Fighting (RFF) to bolster aviation safety and emergency response at airports throughout Bangladesh.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the MoU is designed to improve collaboration between FSCD and CAAB, ensuring swift, coordinated, and effective rescue and firefighting efforts during accidents, fires, or emergencies at airports and their surrounding areas. The agreement was formalized at a ceremony in the CAAB Chairman’s Conference Room in Kurmitola, Dhaka.
Present at the event was CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmood Siddiq, serving as the chief guest, with FSCD Director General Brigadier General Muhammad Jahed Kamal attending as the special guest. The agreement was executed by Director of Air Traffic Management of CAAB Md. Shamsul Haque and FSCD Deputy Director Md. Mamunur Rashid, representing their respective entities.
Under this agreement, FSCD and CAAB will collaborate to enhance aviation safety through rapid response strategies, coordinated training, information sharing, and technical support during emergencies. This partnership aims to improve the national capability to manage potential accidents and efficiently conduct rescue and firefighting operations in airport vicinities.
The signing ceremony was attended by officials from CAAB, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the Ministry of Home Affairs, FSCD, and members of the electronic and print media.
