Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman continued official works at his Tejgaon office on the weekly holiday today (Saturday). Since taking oath as the prime minister on February 17, he has continued official work at his Tejgaon office for three consecutive Saturdays, which is typically a weekly holiday, a Prime Minister's Office (PMO) press release stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prime Minister's Advisers Ismail Zabiullah, Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, and Mahdi Amin were also present at their offices at the PMO. Additionally, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Saleh Shibly, Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman, and other senior officials were engaged in their official duties at their respective offices at PMO.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman maintained a busy schedule at his office, even on the holiday. He arrived at the PMO at 12:00 noon. Shortly after his arrival, he conducted a meeting with the Director General of the Bangladesh Jute Research Institute, Dr. Nargis Akter, to deliberate on increasing the diversified use of jute products and expanding their market.
Later, at 2:30 pm, Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood met with the premier. Their meeting focused on discussing strategies for reducing costs in the power and energy sector and ensuring effective energy management. Meanwhile, the prime minister is scheduled to host an iftar at the state guest house Jamuna this evening in honor of the country's ulema, mashayekh, and orphans. He is set to join the iftar directly from his office.
