Dhaka: The second day of a training workshop organized by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for its Members of Parliament (MPs) is underway, featuring the participation of lawmakers from Dhaka district and several other divisions.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the workshop commenced at 10:00 am at the BNP chairperson’s office located in Gulshan, Dhaka. The event was inaugurated by BNP Secretary General and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. The morning session saw the attendance of MPs from Dhaka district, as well as representatives from the Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Faridpur divisions.
In the afternoon session, lawmakers from the Sylhet, Cumilla, and Chattogram divisions are scheduled to participate. Notable figures present at the workshop include BNP Standing Committee members Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, along with Vice Chairman Ahmed Azam Khan and senior leader Osman Faruk.
The two-day training workshop was initially inaugurated on Friday by Prime Minister and Leader of the House Tarique Rahman. On the first day, the morning session was attended by ministers, state ministers, and advisers, while MPs from the Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, and Faridpur divisions participated in the afternoon session.
The workshop is being conducted in anticipation of the first session of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad, which is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am on March 12. President Mohammed Shahabuddin had summoned this session on February 23. Out of the 209 BNP MPs elected to the 13th parliament, 146 are new lawmakers.
