Chattogram: The 20th death anniversary of Begum Dalia Naznin Nasir, wife of former minister, mayor, ambassador, and BNP Vice Chairman Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin, as well as the mother of State Minister for Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, MP, was observed here today. The commemoration was marked by Quran Khani, doa, and milad mahfil.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the family of the deceased organized extensive programs at Amatun Nur Talimul Quran Madrasa, Dalia Nusrat Memorial Trust, Mir Noabul Haque Memorial High School, and various social and voluntary organizations. The event saw participation from Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, MP, Abu Sufian, MP, Earshadullah, MP, city BNP General Secretary Nazimur Rahman, and other BNP leaders like Shawkat Azam Khawza, Yasir Chowdhury Liton, Miskatul Islam Pappa, and Aminul Islam Amin.
The Holy Quran was recited after Zohr prayers, followed by doa and milad mahfil held at Dalia Kunj, her residence on Chatteshwari Road in the city. On this day in 2006, Begum Dalia Naznin Nasir, her eldest daughter Nusrat Naznin Nasir, a medical student, and her elder sister Begum Shamsunnahar tragically died in a road accident while returning to Jeddah Airport after visiting the Rawza Mubarak of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in the holy city of Medina, Saudi Arabia.
