BGB Distributes Aid To Families In Rangamati’s Barkal Upazila

Rangamati: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has provided humanitarian assistance to helpless and underprivileged families in Barkal upazila of the district. The initiative took place on Thursday at the Chhota Harina Battalion Headquarters as part of the Harmony and Development Project, with the distribution occurring around 11:00 am.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Lieutenant Colonel Imrul Kayes Mehedi, Zone Commander of 12 BGB, led the distribution of aid to several families in need. The assistance package included corrugated iron sheets to aid in the repair of houses and religious institutions, financial support for medical treatment, marriage donations, sewing machines for income generation, honorariums for mosque imams, and iftar items for madrasas and orphanages.



Furthermore, the Zone Commander extended financial assistance amounting to Taka 2.54 lakh to two families that suffered losses due to fire incidents. Toys were also distributed to various local clubs as part of the initiative.



During the event, Lieutenant Colonel Imrul Kayes Mehedi emphasized BGB’s commitment to not only ensuring border security but also improving the quality of life for people in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. He reiterated BGB’s dedication to the goals of peace, harmony, and development, assuring that such humanitarian efforts will continue in the future.
