Rangpur: The district administration organised an introductory and views-exchange meeting with the newly elected members of parliament (MPs) from six parliamentary constituencies of Rangpur on Wednesday afternoon. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Ahsan presided over the programme held at his conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in the metropolis.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rangpur-1 MP Raihan Siraji, Rangpur-2 MP ATM Azharul Islam, Rangpur-3 MP Mahbubur Rahman Belal, Rangpur-4 MP Akhtar Hossain, Rangpur-5 MP Md Golam Rabbani, and Rangpur-6 MP Maulana Nurul Amin were present at the meeting. The newly elected MPs highlighted a range of issues including problems, possibilities, and development goals aimed at advancing Rangpur’s progress and improving the comfort of its residents.
Key topics of discussion included the implementation of the Teesta Master Plan, employment generation through the establishment of industries, development of Shyamasundari Canal and KD Canal, and the expansion of modern agricultural technology to enhance agriculture. The MPs also emphasized the importance of providing hands-on training to farmers, establishing warehousing facilities, exporting agricultural products, increasing government educational institutions, advancing the IT sector, initiating coal mining in Pirganj, ensuring gas supply, and establishing BSCIC and economic zones.
The district administration officials, including Superintendent of Police Marufat Hussaine, addressed the meeting, seeking the cooperation of the members of parliament for the holistic development of the Rangpur district.
