EU Seeks Early Measures to Remove Non-Tariff Barriers

Dhaka: The European Union (EU) has called for swift actions to eliminate non-tariff barriers (NTBs) in an effort to boost business confidence and ensure non-discrimination in trade practices.



According to United News of Bangladesh, EU Ambassadors, under the leadership of Ambassador Michael Miller, met with Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir and State Minister for Commerce Md Shariful Alam to explore trade and investment opportunities. The EU remains a vital partner for Bangladesh, being its largest market, and is committed to aiding the country in modernizing and diversifying its economy.



During the meeting, Frederic Inza, Charg© d’Affaires of the Embassy of France, reiterated France’s dedication to fortifying its partnership with Bangladesh. Inza highlighted France’s willingness to collaborate with the new government to foster a more favorable environment for European investments. He also stressed the necessity of joint efforts to ensure fair competition and tackle upcoming challenges through sustained cooperation.
