Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) has established a 33-member committee tasked with preparing and publishing a report detailing the activities of foreign observers who monitored the recent referendum and the 13th parliamentary election. The announcement came through an office order signed by EC Secretariat Director (Public Relations) Md Ruhul Amin Mollik.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the referendum and the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election took place on February 12, 2026. A total of 57 foreign observers from various countries were invited by the EC to oversee the electoral process. These observers were extended local hospitality, which included reception at the airport, accommodation, and participation in events, as well as visits to polling centers on Election Day.

The forthcoming report will document written accounts and photographs capturing the observers’ experiences, from their arrival and stay to their inspections and eventual departure. The committee’s role involves collecting observation reports from the foreign delegates and compiling them into a comprehensive book-form document. This document will include relevant photographs and write-ups for archival purposes.

Each committee member is responsible for coordinating with respective teams to gather observer reports and ensuring their submission to the member-secretary. The committee will formulate a detailed report based on the compiled documents and may include additional members if required to complete the task effectively.
