Dhaka: The Ministry of Commerce has appointed Commerce Ministry Deputy Secretary Mohammad Delwar Hossain as the new administrator for the Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners’ Association (BEIOA), also known as “Baishimas.” This decision comes as a result of the dissolution of the existing executive committee under the Trade Organizations Act, 2022.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an office order issued by the Ministry yesterday indicated that the tenure of the current committee expired on December 31, 2025. The order highlighted issues of coordination within the existing board, which led to improper management of the organization, affecting business, industry, trade, and services. Citing Section 17(1) of the Trade Organisations Act, 2022, the government decided to disband the board of directors and appoint Mohammad Delwar Hossain as the Administrator.
The newly appointed Administrator has been tasked with conducting a fair election within 120 days. Following the election, responsibilities are to be handed over to the newly-elected committee, with the Ministry being informed accordingly. The office order was signed by Director General Muhammad Rehan Uddin of the Trade Organisations Wing under the Ministry of Commerce.
