Cumilla: Four members of a family, including a woman and a child, were injured in a gas cylinder explosion in Daudkandi, Cumilla. The incident occurred early Tuesday, causing significant harm to the family members present at the scene.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the injured individuals have been identified as Monowara, 60, Zill Haque, 37, Umme Humaira, 30, and two-year-old Hurram. They were promptly rescued and transported to the emergency department of the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute at approximately 6 am, as reported by hospital sources.
Resident Surgeon Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman confirmed that the victims were brought from Daudkandi in a burned condition. The doctor noted that Monowara suffered burns covering two percent of her body, Zill Haque sustained burns on 54 percent, Umme Humaira on 65 percent, and the child, Hurram, on six percent of his body. The condition of Zill Haque and Umme Humaira is particularly concerning due to the severity of their burns, Dr. Rahman added.
