Dhaka: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman today joined an Iftar Mahfil organized in honor of orphans in his Dhaka-15 parliamentary constituency. The event aimed to highlight the importance of empowering orphans for nation-building.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Shafiqur Rahman, during his speech at a discussion preceding the Iftar Mahfil, emphasized the need for developing orphans so they can assume leadership roles in the future. He also addressed political issues, expressing that no individual should face oppression based on party affiliation.
Dr Rahman affirmed his commitment to the country and its citizens, stating that protests and resistance would be organized if anyone fell victim to oppression. He expressed hope for collaboration between the government and opposition to safeguard people’s rights, aspiring for governance that aligns with divine approval.
The program was chaired by Md Selim Uddin, Ameer of the Dhaka Metropolitan North unit of Jamaat, with Assistant Secretary General Dr Fakhruddin Manik conducting the proceedings.
