Policies to be Reformed to Increase Foreign Investment in Jute Sector: Muqtadir

Dhaka: Textiles and Jute Minister Khandaker Abdul Muqtadir today said policies will be reformed to increase foreign investment in the jute sector. “People are now increasingly interested in natural and biodegradable products. Jute is closely linked with the country’s heritage. Policies will be reformed to increase foreign investment in jute sector,” he said while exchanging views with officials and employees of the ministry at the Secretariat here.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, State Minister for Textiles and Jute Md Shariful Alam emphasized the importance of highlighting the competitive mindset, capacity, and advantages of the jute sector globally to attract foreign investors. He urged everyone to work in unity in accordance with the government’s directives.



Earlier, Textiles and Jute Secretary Bilquis Jahan Rimi presented an overview of the ministry’s overall activities. Additional Secretaries Arifur Rahman Khan, Subrata Shikdar, Raina Ahmed, along with senior officials and employees of the ministry and heads of its subordinate departments and agencies, were present on the occasion.
