Dhaka: New Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan, MP, today emphasized that media development is unattainable without addressing the challenges faced by journalists. He delivered these remarks during a visit to the National Press Club, where he engaged in a courtesy meeting with journalists.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister underscored the significance of independent journalism as a cornerstone for strengthening the media landscape. The event was attended by State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yeaser Khan Chowdhury, MP, along with other notable figures in the media industry.
Prominent attendees included National Press Club President Hasan Hafiz, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Secretary General Kader Gani Chowdhury, and Dhaka Union of Journalists President Shahidul Islam. Journalists covering the BNP beat were also present at the meeting, which served as a platform for discussing the issues plaguing the media sector.
