Religious Ministry to Donate 13,000 Religious Books to Prisons: Jahangir

Dhaka: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced that the Ministry of Religious Affairs will donate 13,000 religious books to the Department of Prisons. The announcement was made during a courtesy call by Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain at the Home Ministry office at the Bangladesh Secretariat.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Chowdhury emphasized the significance of religious education in enhancing moral values, correcting behavior, and guiding individuals toward the right path. Along with the distribution of religious books, the Ministry of Religious Affairs plans to appoint a religious teacher in each prison to provide guidance to inmates.



During the meeting, Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain symbolically handed over a number of religious books to the Home Affairs Adviser, marking the initiative’s commencement. Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry Nasimul Ghani and Inspector General of Department of Prisons Brigadier General Syed Md. Motaher Hossain were also in attendance.
