Chattogram: The 38th weekly tea sale of the season held here on Monday witnessed a moderate demand for different categories. Market sources stated that well-made, good liquoring types continued to attract strong competition and were well absorbed at firm to dearer rates. However, some end-of-season quality teas on offer met with limited demand and experienced heavy withdrawals. Blenders operated in good strength across all varieties, while loose tea buyers were more selective. Good liquoring Dusts stood out as a strong feature of the sale.

CTC Leaf: A total of 46,608 packages of tea on offer experienced fairly strong demand. Well-made, good liquoring Brokens were popular in the market and mostly sold at levels similar to previous weeks. Mediums maintained a firm market presence, consistent with quality. Plainer varieties faced lower demand and saw more withdrawals. BLF teas continued to be in good demand and maintained firm prices compared to last week.

Fannings: Well-made, good liquoring Fannings again encountered a robust market and were fully firm to slightly dearer. Medium types enjoyed good demand and sold at similar levels to the previous week. BLF teas remained in good demand and maintained firm prices.

Dust: Out of 10,590 packages of tea on offer, there was good demand. Select well-made, good liquoring teas faced strong competition and achieved attractive prices. Other good liquoring and Medium teas sold well at comparable levels to previous weeks. Plain/BLF Dusts experienced an easier market with some withdrawals. Blenders provided strong support, with fair interest from loose tea buyers.
