Cumilla: BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to address three separate public rallies in Cumilla today as part of his campaign for the 13th national parliamentary election, marking his visit to the district after a gap of 21 years. Tarique Rahman will speak as the chief guest at rallies in Chauddagram, Sadar South, and Daudkandi upazilas of the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, as part of the BNP's ongoing election campaign, the party chairman has been holding a series of rallies and mass contact programs across different regions of the country. Today's Cumilla visit is a continuation of that drive. BNP's district and upazila units, along with affiliated and associate organizations, have completed extensive preparations ahead of the visit.
The schedule indicates that Tarique Rahman will address a rally at Chauddagram High School ground at 5:30 pm, Suagazi Phultatali Digbaji ground at 7:00 pm, and Daudkandi Central Eidgah ground at 7:30 pm. He is scheduled to return to Dhaka later via Narayanganj. Earlier, on January 22, Tarique Rahman returned to Dhaka after touring the Sylhet region and addressed rallies and public meetings in Brahmanbaria, Bhairab, Narsingdi, and Narayanganj. On January 23, he conducted mass contact and held a rally in his constituency, Dhaka-17. He arrived in Chattogram last night and is scheduled to proceed to Cumilla.
Cumilla South District BNP General Secretary Ashiqur Rahman Mahmud mentioned that a festive atmosphere is prevailing across the district centering on the arrival of the party's top leader. He stated that all preparations to ensure the success of the rallies have been completed and expressed hope that the programs would create a new wave of public support for the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol.
On-the-spot observations showed widespread enthusiasm among BNP leaders and activists in Cumilla ahead of Tarique Rahman's arrival. Since morning, large numbers of party leaders and activists have gathered at the Suagazi Phultatali rally ground in Sadar South upazila. Party leaders and activists believe that Tarique Rahman's visit would further strengthen organizational unity and have a positive impact on BNP candidates in the upcoming election.
