Dhaka: BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has declared that the country's youth are fully prepared to participate in national policymaking and should be given greater space to contribute to shaping Bangladesh's future.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in a post on his verified Facebook page on Saturday, Tarique Rahman emphasized the readiness of Bangladeshi youth to take an active role in policymaking. He highlighted the need to create more opportunities for young people to provide leadership, stating, "To build the nation's future, more opportunities and spaces must be created for Bangladeshi youth, where they can find avenues to provide leadership."
Rahman recounted his participation in a vibrant and inspiring gathering with young content creators and youths at Justice Shahabuddin Park in Dhaka. He expressed appreciation for the direct and open dialogue, saying, "Not from a stage or behind barricades, but under the open sky, I joined a lively discussion with young people. Through our conversations, I understood the kind of new politics the youth truly desire."
Further illustrating the engagement with young voices, he mentioned listening to ideas shared by participants from across the country during the 'My Vision for Bangladesh' reel competition. These discussions touched upon crucial topics such as education, employment, environmental protection, women's empowerment, and the aspiration for a corruption-free Bangladesh. Rahman described these contributions as powerful and thought-provoking.
The competition attracted more than 2,200 submissions, with winners presenting various questions to Tarique Rahman, who responded openly to their inquiries.
