Narsingdi: A prayer and discussion were held in Palash upazila of the district today to mark the 90th birth anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. The programme was organised by Palash Upazila BNP at the BIDC Bus Stand in the afternoon, beginning around 4:00 pm.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BNP Standing Committee member and BNP-nominated candidate for the Narsingdi-2 constituency, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, attended the programme as the chief guest. Among others, Palash Upazila BNP President Abdul Sattar, General Secretary Saiful Haque, Senior Joint General Secretary Bahauddin Milton, and Ghorashal Poura BNP General Secretary Delwar Hossain were present. Leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organisations at various levels also attended the event.
Speakers at the discussion meeting highlighted the patriotism, leadership qualities, and significant contributions of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, particularly his role in establishing multi-party democracy in the country. The programme concluded with special prayers and munajat, seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
