Narail: A school student lost his life, and another individual sustained critical injuries in a motorcycle accident in the SM Sultan Bridge area on Sunday night.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tragic incident occurred when the motorcycle, carrying Mehedi Hasan, a 17-year-old student from Narail Government Technical School and College, lost control and collided with a van. Mehedi, an SSC examinee and resident of Mahishkhola Puratan Ferryghat in Narail town, was returning home from Gobra when the accident took place around 8:00 pm near the SM Sultan Setu area over the Chitra River.
Eyewitnesses and local police reported that Mehedi and Imran, a passenger in the van, were critically injured in the collision. Prompt action by local residents saw both injured parties transported to Narail District Hospital. However, the attending doctor at the emergency department declared Mehedi dead upon arrival.
Md Oli Mia, Officer-in-Charge of Narail Sadar Police Station, stated that Mehedi’s body would be released to his family following the completion of necessary legal procedures.
