Khulna: A doa and discussion meeting was convened in Khulna today to seek eternal peace for the soul of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. The event was organized by the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Wholesale Raw Market Traders and Owners’ Association, with its president Sheikh Saber Hossain presiding over the session.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BNP-nominated candidate for Khulna-2 constituency, Nazrul Islam Manju, attended the meeting as the chief guest. Khulna City BNP President Shafiqul Alam Mona and General Secretary S M Shafiqul Alam Tuhin were also present as special guests. In his address, Manju described Begum Khaleda Zia as the architect of modern democracy in Bangladesh and highlighted her unwavering principles. He emphasized her commitment to truth and justice, noting her resilience against injustices, oppression, and persecution.
Manju further stated that Khaleda Zia never compromised on the interests of the country and its people, dedicating her life to the struggle for democracy, freedom, and sovereignty. He remarked that such leadership is unique in the political history of Bangladesh.
Reflecting on her leadership, Manju mentioned that even after facing personal losses, Khaleda Zia continued to prioritize the welfare of the country and its citizens. He underscored that the establishment of people’s rights was the core philosophy of her politics.
The event concluded with a special doa and munajat for the eternal peace of Begum Khaleda Zia’s soul. Leaders and activists of BNP and its associate organizations were present to pay their respects.
