Khulna: BNP-nominated candidate for Khulna-2 constituency, Nazrul Islam Manju, emphasized the significant impact of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia on democracy, development, and the protection of people’s rights. Manju highlighted her courageous and selfless leadership, which has established her as a role model.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Manju praised Khaleda Zia for earning a permanent place in people’s hearts through her patriotism, dignity, and unwavering commitment to democratic values. He noted that despite facing prolonged imprisonment and adverse political circumstances, she never displayed vindictiveness.
Manju made these remarks during a discussion meeting and doa mahfil organized by the Boro Bazar Raw and Finished Goods Traders’ Association. The event, seeking eternal peace for Khaleda Zia’s soul, was presided over by business leader Sheikh Asadur Rahman.
Khaleda Zia was described by Manju as a distinctive figure in Bangladesh’s politics, recognized for her refined sensibility, liberal vision, and dignified leadership. He asserted that her contributions would remain a lasting part of the nation’s history.
Manju also stated that Khaleda Zia’s ideals would continue to inspire future generations. He expressed confidence that BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, following her ideals, would lead the creation of a prosperous and democratic Bangladesh with public support. He emphasized that there is no alternative to Tarique Rahman for the country’s progress.
Earlier, Manju participated as the chief guest at a doa mahfil organized by the Hardmetal Gallery Hardware and Machinery Merchants Association after Zuhr prayers, where Ferdous Ahmed conducted the prayers. He also addressed another doa mahfil and discussion meeting organized by the Labanchara Rice Mill and Chira Mill Owners’ Association later in the day, presided over by Yasin Arafat and conducted by HM Aslam Hossain.
