Khulna: Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Prof Dr Md Maksud Helali today asserted that a skilled and disciplined workforce is the cornerstone of a healthy academic environment. He emphasized that a clear understanding of service rules and proper conduct promotes transparency and accountability in the workplace, which catalyzes overall institutional development.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the VC shared these insights while addressing a basic training programme titled 'Service Rules, Discipline and Code of Conduct' for Grade-14 and Grade-15 employees at KUET, where he served as the chief guest. The university's Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized the day-long programme, which was inaugurated at the conference room of the administrative building.
The programme was chaired by IQAC Director Prof Dr Md Hasanuzzaman, and the session was conducted by Additional Director Prof Dr Md Nur Kutubul Alam. Two technical sessions were held during the training. In the first session, Prof Dr Md Nurunnabi Mollah of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering discussed service rules, discipline, responsibilities, and duties of employees.
The second session was led by IQAC Director Prof Dr Md Hasanuzzaman, focusing on punctuality, leave regulations, and entitled benefits, providing comprehensive guidance to the attendees.
