Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 69 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a spokesman of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported, “We recorded 69 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8 am today.” The breakdown of the cases includes eight hospitalizations in Barishal division, 21 in Chattogram division, five in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 14 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), six in Khulna division, four in Mymensingh division, nine in Rajshahi division, and two in Sylhet division, as stated in a DGHS statement.
Since the beginning of the dengue outbreak in Bangladesh this year, the disease has affected 261 people. In the previous year, dengue claimed 413 lives and affected 102,861 individuals in the country. Furthermore, projections for 2024 estimate the disease could claim 575 lives and affect 101,214 people.
