Legal Aid Resolves Over 1.79 Lakh Cases Through ADR System

Dhaka: The National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) has successfully resolved a total of 1,79,062 cases through the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) system, as reported by the organization. This information was disclosed in a report published on NLASO’s website, which details its activities from 2009 to November 2025.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the report highlights that a total of 2,02,547 cases were considered for resolution through the ADR system during this period. Out of these, 1,79,062 cases, benefiting 3,49,973 individuals, were successfully resolved. The report further indicates that up to November 2025, a total of 13,55,423 people received legal services at government expense through the NLASO.



The beneficiaries of these services included litigants from the Supreme Court’s High Court Division and Appellate Division, all lower courts, and labor courts across the country, as well as insolvent prisoners in jails. Legal assistance at government expense has been provided under the Legal Aid Services Act, 2000, catering to financially insolvent and disadvantaged justice seekers across the country.



The NLASO has been implementing this program under the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
