Dhaka: BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, accompanied by his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman and other close family members, paid a visit to BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at Evercare Hospital in the city. Their visit highlights the ongoing concern for Khaleda Zia’s health as she continues her treatment.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also made a visit to the hospital to see Khaleda Zia earlier. Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP Media Cell, reported that Mirza Fakhrul left the hospital around 12:20 am, while Tarique Rahman stayed on to be with his mother.
Shayrul Kabir Khan also mentioned that Khaleda Zia’s personal physician, Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, who is also a BNP Standing Committee member, is expected to brief the media on her latest health condition. Khaleda Zia has been under medical care at Evercare Hospital since November 23.
Dr. Zahid Hossain noted on Saturday night that Khaleda Zia’s condition was extremely c
ritical, requiring treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Tarique Rahman first visited his mother at the hospital last Thursday after returning from London and has maintained regular visits since last Saturday. His wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, visited the hospital multiple times throughout Monday.
Other family members who have visited Khaleda Zia include her elder sister Selina Islam, younger brother Shamim Iskander, Tarique Rahman’s daughter Zaima Rahman, and Arafat Rahman Koko’s daughter Zahia Rahman.
