Mymensingh: Mymensingh College emerged as the divisional champion for the second time in the Inter-College Football Tournament, Mymensingh Divisional Level Competition. They achieved this by defeating Bakshiganj Government Kiamat Ullah College of Jamalpur district with a decisive 4-0 victory in the final held at the Mymensingh district stadium.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the champion team, Mymensingh College, showcased impressive skills with Maruf scoring two goals, while Swadhin and Faisal each contributed one goal to secure their win. The event was graced by Mymensingh Divisional Commissioner Farah Shammi, who served as the chief guest and presented trophies and a cash reward of Taka 60 thousand to both the champions and the runners-up.
The final match also saw the presence of several notable figures, including Deputy Commissioner Md. Saifur Rahman, city corporation chief executive officer, and its Secretary Sumana Al Majid. Maruf from Mymensingh College was named the best player of the final, while Kaiser from Jamalpur was recognized as the best player of the tournament.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Reza Md. Golam Masum Pradhan, District Sports Officer and District Sports Organization Member Secretary Al Amin, member secretary of the Divisional Sports Association Harun Or Rashid, member of the District Sports Association Anwar Hossain Manju, and Principal of Mymensingh College SM Shafiqul Haider Mukul were among the attendees who witnessed the match.
The tournament featured a total of eight teams, including champions and runners-up from four districts of the division. It was organized by the divisional administration and district sports office with support from the Sports Directorate of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, marking the Festival of Youth 2025.
