Dhaka: Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 16.4 percent, reaching US$2,337 million in the twenty-one days of December, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in 2024, during the same period, the country’s remittance inflow was $2,007 million. This significant increase in remittances highlights the robust contribution of expatriate workers to the national economy.

During the period from July to December 21 in the 2025 fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances totaling $15,375 million. This figure is a noteworthy increase from the $13,145 million recorded during the same period of the previous fiscal year. This upward trend in remittance flow reflects the growing reliance on remittances as a key component of Bangladesh’s economic landscape.
