Dhaka: Education Adviser Prof. Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar today said a vested quarter is carrying out evil efforts to tarnish the spirit of the July Uprising. In a statement, he said that because of the evil efforts of that quarter, there is also a risk that the conspiracies of anti-Bangladesh fascist forces may succeed.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Abrar mentioned that while the nation mourns the martyrdom of Sharif Osman Hadi, a minority of extremist groups are exploiting the situation to incite disorder and chaos across the country. These groups have attacked and set fire to the building of ‘Chhayanaut’, a longstanding cultural institution in Bangladesh, destroying its musical and educational materials.

Abrar noted that the attack has also disrupted the educational activities of ‘Nalanda’, managed by Chhayanaut in the affected building. He strongly condemned the incident, expressing concern over the potential impact on Bangladesh’s cultural and educational heritage.

In addition to this, Abrar condemned the attack and arson at the office of the cultural organization ‘Udichi’. He also expressed deep concern and strong condemnation over the attacks on the offices of two newspapers, ‘Prothom Alo’ and ‘The Daily Star’, as well as the humiliation of Nurul Kabir, the veteran journalist and editor of the daily New Age.
