Dhaka: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained three individuals, including the wife of the prime suspect Faisal Karim Masud, in connection with the shooting of Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi in the city's Paltan area. The detainees are Faisal's wife Samia, his friend Monika, and his brother-in-law Shipu.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the detentions were carried out during separate raids conducted in Dhaka and Narayanganj over the last 24 hours, as confirmed by Wing Commander MZM Enthekhab Chowdhury, director of RAB's legal and media wing. Faisal maintained contact with all three individuals both before and after the shooting, raising suspicions about their involvement.

Enthekhab Chowdhury revealed that Faisal spent the night preceding the incident with his wife in Narayanganj and left for Dhaka at dawn. Following this, he visited the residence of his friend Monika. The shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, who is also an aspiring candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, occurred around noon on Friday. RAB officials have stated that investigations into the incident are ongoing, with Faisal's connections being thoroughly examined.

Hadi is currently receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital. In a parallel development, the Interim Government has decided to send Osman Hadi to Singapore for advanced medical treatment, aiming to ensure his swift recovery and well-being.
