Another Accused Confesses in Pallabi Jubo Dal Leader Kibria Murder Case

Dhaka: Masum Billah alias Bhagne Masum, one of the accused in the case involving the killing of Pallabi Thana Jubo Dal leader Golam Kibria, has confessed to the murder. His confessional statement was recorded under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) by Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana, who subsequently ordered Masum to be returned to jail.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the police had requested to record Masum’s confessional statement after he agreed to testify under section 164. Masum was apprehended by police on November 20 in Shariatpur and was subsequently placed in police remand for six days.



The case documents reveal that on November 17, at around 6.30 pm, three masked and helmeted assailants entered a hardware store in Mirpur-12 Block-C under Pallabi Police Station and fatally shot Kibria. Following the incident, the victim’s widow, Sabiha Akter Dina, filed a case on November 18, listing five individuals and seven to eight unidentified persons as suspects.
