Natore: The government today distributed Boro paddy seeds and fertilizers among 2,020 small and marginal farmers in Singra upazila of the district to support increased agricultural production. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdullah Al Rifat handed over the incentives at a function held at the hall room of the Upazila Agriculture Office at 11 am.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, speakers at the event, including Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Md Shahadat Hossain and Upazila Agriculture Officer Khandaker Farid Hasan, highlighted the country’s achievement of food self-sufficiency. They credited this success to effective steps taken by the Ministry of Agriculture. These measures include providing incentives and training at the farmer level, mechanization, the introduction of technology, and ensuring easy availability of all inputs, including fertilizers.
