Dhaka: The Supreme Court Secretariat will be inaugurated tomorrow. Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Refaat Ahmed is set to inaugurate the Secretariat at an event scheduled to take place at 2:30 pm at Administrative Building-4 of the Supreme Court (SC) premises.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Md Shafiqul Islam, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, confirmed the details of the inauguration. This significant event follows the issuance of the Supreme Court Secretariat Ordinance, 2025 by the government, aimed at ensuring the full independence of the judiciary.
The ordinance, issued by the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry on November 30, marks a pivotal step in officially separating the judiciary from the executive branch. Since the issuance, the Chief Justice has been actively implementing various measures to align with the ordinance’s provisions.
