CA Congratulates Bangladesh U-21 Hockey Team for Junior World Cup Triumph

Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today congratulated the Bangladesh Youth Hockey team for winning the Challenger Trophy of the Junior Hockey World Cup. In a congratulatory message, he expressed that this achievement has instilled pride within the nation.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the chief adviser highlighted that through hard work, discipline, team solidarity, and indomitable morale, the youth hockey team players have elevated Bangladesh’s standing in the international arena. Professor Yunus attributed this success to the resilience of the young players, the dedication of the coaching staff, and the collective efforts of everyone involved, which he believes will propel Bangladesh’s hockey further in the future.



He expressed hope that this triumph would open a new horizon in Bangladesh’s sports domain. Professor Yunus also mentioned that there is potential for the youth to achieve even greater success by sustaining this trend of progress and excellence.



The Bangladesh U-21 hockey team secured the Challenger Trophy of the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup by defeating Austria 5-4 in the place-deciding match for the 17th and 18th positions, held in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, on Monday. The International Hockey Federation has designated the place-deciding round among the eight teams eliminated from the group stage of the Youth Hockey World Cup as the ‘Challenger Trophy’.
