Amir Ezaz Khan Announced as BNP Candidate for Khulna-1 Constituency

Khulna: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has named Amir Ezaz Khan as its candidate for the Khulna-1 (Dakope-Batiaghata) constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election. Ezaz, a seasoned politician, has previously contested national elections from the same seat in 2001, 2008, and 2018.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, local BNP leaders expressed that his selection was widely anticipated, with grassroots activists long favouring his candidacy. He has served as both the general secretary and later the convener of the district BNP, earning recognition for his dedication to organisational work.

Following the announcement of his candidacy, BNP activists celebrated with processions, distributed sweets, and shared congratulatory messages on social media. Grassroots leaders believe that this decision will strengthen the party's position in the constituency.

Local BNP activists have already intensified their election preparations, confident that under Ezaz's leadership, the party will gain renewed momentum. Amir Ezaz Khan, speaking to reporters, emphasized his commitment to serving the people of Batiaghata, noting his longstanding involvement with the upazila committee.

Ezaz recalled his previous election campaigns, highlighting the significant public support he received despite losing the 2001 election. He also mentioned that he garnered a substantial number of votes in 2008 and 2018 with the BNP nomination. He expressed optimism that a free and fair election would enable him to meet the expectations of voters in Khulna-1.
