Sylhet: All commercial outlets in Sylhet, excluding hotels, restaurants, and medicine shops, will be required to close by 9:30 pm starting December 7.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this decision was made during a meeting held at the Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office, presided over by Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Quddus Chowdhury. The meeting included leaders from various market committees who agreed on the necessity of these measures.
The discussion also resulted in a decision to make parking spaces in all markets accessible for public use. Authorities have mandated the removal of shops illegally constructed in designated parking areas of markets and shopping malls by December 31. These shops were identified as being in violation of approved parking plans, and their removal is deemed crucial for effective traffic management.
