Dhaka: The interim government has decided to declare Begum Khaleda Zia, a three-time former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson, as a Very Very Important Person (VVIP). This decision aims to ensure her smooth treatment in the hospital, enhance security measures, provide travel privileges, and recognize her high status as the wife of a former President.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the decision was made during a special meeting of the Council of Advisers at the State Guest House Jamuna, presided over by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus. Planning Adviser Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud announced at a press briefing that the move was made considering Khaleda Zia's current physical condition and potential plans to take her abroad for advanced medical treatment if necessary.

The government has instructed all relevant agencies to implement the decision immediately. Khaleda Zia's family and her party have been informed of these measures. The meeting concluded with prayers for her early recovery, and the government has urged citizens to join in praying for her well-being.
